  All of that being said, I want to encourage those who shepherd the little ones to be sensitive to the folks around you.  There is a time to take a child who is being particularly fussy or noisy into the narthex so that others can hear the Word of God that they came to  worship to receive.  The time during the reading of scripture and the sermon are particularly sensitive moments when being able to hear and concentrate on what is proclaimed is important.
So let the children come, as Jesus said.  But please also respect the listening space of others.  Both things are matters of gracious understanding.
