What we need now are a lot of service opportunities to post. You know, the kinds of things that Jesus would tend to, if he were here. Wait! He IS here! Jesus lives in us. His Spirit lives right in us!
He works through us. We are his hands and feet. We are his voice. He made it very clear that the greatest of his followers would be those who were best at being lowly servants.
Can you think of some possibilities for local acts of service, big and small, that individuals and families could select from the Sent to Serve kiosk? Write them down and bring them to the church office or email them to me or hand them to anyone on the Sent to Serve committee. Members of the committee include: Doug and Billie Jo Johnson, Sandy Louis, Heidi Dibble, and Sheunna Jabs We will have a big Sent to Serve celebration on Christ the King Sunday this fall (November 22nd).
On that Sunday we are reminded that Christ must reign in our hearts, minds, wills, and bodies.
WE ARE SERVANTS OF CHRIST THE SERVANT KING AS WE SERVE THE LAST THE LOST,
THE LEAST AND THE LITTLE. "In as much as you have served (fed, clothed .visited...) the least of these, my brothers and sisters", says the king in Mathew 25, "YOU HAVE DONE IT TO ME!"
