We are a community of hope, called by the Word, transformed us by grace
through faith in Christ, and sent into the world to serve as his very presence.
This is, of course, our mission statement. It’s the core of our understanding of who we are and what we do. Above all else we are men, women and children called, transformed and sent by God our creator and savior.
God calls us out of ourselves. The beginning of that for me is the revelation that nothing that I am and nothing I have is mine. We all belong to God. All of our “stuff” and all of our money belongs to God. Everything in this vast universe is God’s. God has been good enough to grant us a little time in this world, and asks only that we trust the good news that we are loved, and held in forgiving grace, and that we live our lives secure in that promise loving God and loving our neighbors.
We gather in this congregation of believers called Hope Lutheran Church to:
· practice God’s presence in prayer
· to hear the Word proclaimed, to participate in the sacraments that communicate grace
· to encourage and challenge one another to faithfulness.
